Vero & Chris - Spanish Monastery

I've decided to start 2011 on the right track and make a better effort to blog our events more frequently. So, without further delay, I bring you Chris and Veronica from Washington DC, who had around 70 guests fly in from around the world to celebrate with them.

It all started with a fantastic rehearsal dinner aboard the Tikki Beach cruise. This was a great opportunity to showcase South Florida weather during the winter. We could not have asked for a more perfect night aboard this fun, unique vessel.

The following night, we planned an exquisite affair at the Ancient Spanish Monastery. Andrew Marrero Photography captured the wonderful event we organized that was catered by Mena Catering and decorated by Elegant Bodas by Elsa. The touching service was officiated by Eddie Rodriguez, during the cocktail hour we listened to the talented Carlos Abanto play the acoustic guitar, and danced the night away with Ubi's Music Productions. Makeup by Marz enhanced Veronica's natural beauty and Cake Designs by Edda made everyone something sweet to take home.

All in all, the weekend was truly memorable. Chris and Vero's love was felt throughout every moment. Enjoy the pics :)

A Modern Event in Palmetto Bay

Mariel and Raven are a fantastic couple. Their wedding took place at the Palmetto Bay Village Center. Mariel is a very detail oriented bride, so it was easy to work with her to make this event a reality. Menus, placecards, decor, flowers, and favors are a just a few things that made this event personal - since Mariel made all of these items. Below are a few pictures from the event, courtesy of Crystal Fielding. Enjoy!

Flawless Night at the Monastery

If you think planning a wedding is quite an endeavor, imagine planning a wedding within six weeks of your sister's big day. The challenge is to make your wedding unique and personal, since most of the guests will be the same.

From the very start, Kenia had very specific ideas about her decor. A talented DIY bride, she took her own engagement pictures, made table numbers with them, coordinated those pictures on the placecards, and even made a photographic family tree. Her ideas and color scheme blended perfectly with the beauty of the monastery.

As you can see from the pictures below (courtesy of Studio 1791), Kenia's wedding was very different than her sister's. Although both beautiful, each reflected a unique personal style.

Kenia and Francisco, I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!

Let's hear it for New York....

Although the title of this post may seem a bit odd, there are certain songs that I associate with weddings. "I gotta feeling" reminds me of a July 2009 wedding, Frank Sinatra's "The way you look tonight" reminds me of an October 2006 wedding, and Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" reminds me of Alicia and Chris' big day.

Villa Woodbine is one of my favorite venues. Aside from the top-notch service you receive from Bill Hansen's staff, the site is elegant, classy, and intimate. When Alicia, a Miami native turned New Yorker, interviewed me for this event I was excited for the possibility of working at the Villa again.

This is the famous wedding where I fell in love with a Peruvian candy called "encanelados". From what I know, they cannot be found anywhere locally, so I see a trip to Lima in the near future. It's also the first time in a long time where I felt like I was watching Dancing with the Stars while the Bride and Groom shared their first dance. I was very impressed! Alicia and Chris, I loved being a part of your big day. Keep dancing...you looked great out there.

Enjoy the pictures below!

Deering Estate Dream

I'm so excited to blog about this wedding. The bride and I met almost 15 years ago and she remains one of my closest friends. She started her wedding planning while still living in Boston. She's not a planner, a very laid back personality, but I guess this is why we get along. It took her a while to get started, but when she finally decided to start selecting vendors, she had most of them booked within a few weeks.

She picked some of the best vendors is South Florida and had her wedding at the gorgeous Deering Estate. I'm so excited to share these pictures with all of you...enjoy!
